Bringing Community Back Offline - Ankit Shah

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. In a world where everything and everyone is online, Ankit talks about the importance of bringing back offline community and grabbing tea with a stranger.

Ankit is an aspiring "good guy" and the creator of Tea With Strangers, a movement that is all about making fun and meaningful interactions more approachable. In his free time, Ankit works on empowering local change-makers to level up standards of wellbeing in rural India with SEEKHO. Ankit graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School in 2013 with a degree in Marketing and Operations.

Ankit is interested in leveraging our inherent desire for connection and serendipity to make empathy and kindness more approachable. This has led him to study behavioral psychology and human motivation in order to discover how to "bring out the awesome" in all of us.

Tea With Strangers is in cities all over the United States, with hundreds of hosts who have brought thousands of people together for conversations about everything and nothing.
